The Ethiopia Electric Power Northern Region operation and maintenance department of the substation and transmission line announced that it is enhancing its coordination system with the Tigray Region Electric Service Office to effectively address power outages sustainably.
Mr. Robel Gebre-Egziabher, director of the Northern Region operation and maintenance department of substation and transmission line, explained that the region has two clients, namely Tigray Region Electric Service and Mesbo Cement Factory.
The director highlighted that the services offered by EEP Northern Region and Tigray Region Electricity Service are interconnected and share a common platform through their management, and they are collaborating to enhance customer satisfaction and prioritize the needs of the community.
He also mentioned that the institutions collaborate by coordinating their manpower, resources, and materials to establish shared platforms, aiming to provide a consistent supply of electricity and address the persistent issue of power outages in the region.
Tigray Region Electric Service Office Executive Mr. Mesfen Gebremedhan said that due to the security problem in the region, there was a power interruption due to damage to the electricity infrastructure and the aging of the network of transmission lines.
He stated that they are collaborating with the North Region of Ethiopia Electric Power to address the power interruption effectively and ensure the provision of dependable service.
Mr. Mesfin further explained that if there is a problem with the power supply, it becomes challenging to serve the community effectively; therefore, the organizations are collaborating to enhance their services by pooling their resources.
