
The Basic Trade Union of Ethiopian Electricity has signed a credit service agreement with Dashan Bank.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Mekonen Kefle, the Chairman of the Ethiopian Electric Power Basic Trade Union and Mr. Binyam Mengesha, the manager of Kotebe 02 branch of Dashan Bank.
It was stated in the signing ceremony that the agreement will enable the members of the association of Ethiopian Electric Power to get the types of goods that they can afford with a long payment period.
According to the chairman of the association, Mr. Mekonen Kfle, the association will provide the necessary monitoring and support so that the employee can benefit from the service according to the agreement.
The association thanked the officials of the institution for their support in reaching an agreement with the bank.
According to the director of digitalization banking at Dashan Bank, Mr. Brock H/Kres, he mentioned that it is a big step to introduce a system that will allow employees who have no purchasing power to achieve their plans by digitizing the credit service.
On his part, Demere Asefa, executive director of the financial sector of Ethiopian Electricity, said that the association’s agreement with Dashen Bank, a private bank, is a big step.
The executive, who asked the bank to provide the service to the employees of the institution all over the country, not limited to Addis Ababa, said that the agreement will not cause problems in the financial distribution system and will enable it to work successfully.
The agreement will enable the workers who are members of the union to get services up to 700 thousand birr and will have a payment period of three months to one year.
