The East One Region of Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) has reaffirmed its dedication to completing all operational, maintenance, and substation upgrade projects scheduled for the 2017 EFY.
Region Director Wordi Mohammed stated that a 100 day action plan is currently being implemented to finalize outstanding tasks and achieve the region’s annual objectives.
Key activities under this initiative include upgrading gas-insulated switchgear at substations in Harar, Hurso, and Adigala, as well as refurbishing control panels at Dire Dawa No.1 Substation.
Conductor replacement is also in progress on the 132kV transmission line between Hurso and Dire Dawa Substation No. 3.
Additionally, efforts are underway to remove outdated equipment from substations, improving operational efficiency and maintaining system cleanliness.
Director Wordi noted that while priority is placed on completing current projects as scheduled, planning has already commenced for major undertakings in the next fiscal year.
This proactive approach is aimed at ensuring continuity and long-term progress in the region’s power infrastructure development.
