The Operation and Maintenance Department of the North West Region transmission lines and Substations of Ethiopian Electric Power has reported that power has been restored to Humera and its surrounding areas after 18-day interruption.

According to the department director, Ato Wubet Abe, the power outage was caused by the collapse of a 230 KV high-voltage transmission line from Shree-Humera.

Dansha, Baeker, Adiremet, Soreka, Maikadra, Abderafi, Abrhajra, Adigoshu, and Adebai, including the city of Humera, which had been experiencing a power outage since June 16, 2024, have had their electricity restored.

He expressed gratitude to the community for their patience and support during the repair work until the damage was fixed.
