“We Build,” the project contractor for the Koyesha Hydropower Project, announced that the Kaizen system is being implemented in the project storage facilities.
Mr. Bergena Badebo, the company’s store supervisor, stated that the inputs used for the project’s construction work, safety equipment, and spare parts for various purposes have been separated and properly organized in accordance with the Kaizen philosophy operating system.
He added that this system will ensure the safety of the goods and save the contractor from unnecessary costs, thereby allowing the project’s construction work to be carried out more effectively.
Mr. Bergena mentioned that the materials used for the project will be organized in the project’s store based on their type and time of entry.
He pointed out that items in the store will be recorded in a database according to their assigned labels. This system will facilitate tracking the available inventory, managing requests for expendable items, and promptly supplying the requesting parties.
According to the supervisor, organizing the store according to the Kaizen philosophy will significantly streamline operations and protect materials from various damages, ensuring they are properly maintained and serviced.
Mr. Bergena mentioned that organizing under the Kaizen philosophy will reduce the time required to search for goods when an item is used. Additionally, new imported goods will be tracked by the person who ordered them, for what purpose, and properly delivered to the requester.
The supervisor stated that a census will be conducted every six months in the stores, providing an opportunity to easily identify and replace missing items and properly categorize imported goods.
The supervisor explained that to avoid unnecessary costs, new materials should be used only after the pre-imported items have been utilized.
He noted that the company provided professional training to employees in the store to ensure proper handling of tasks and to keep up with the latest technology.
