
Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) and Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Enterprise (ESL) held talks to enhance collaboration on joint initiatives. The discussions focused on assessing past activities and exploring ways to enhance future cooperation.
EEP’s CEO, Engineer Ashebir Balcha, highlighted ongoing mega power projects and acknowledged ESL’s critical support in infrastructure development.
Both organizations agreed to enhance information exchange systems using ERP technology and to establish a joint task force to address operational challenges.
On his part, Engineer Efrem Woldemariam, Deputy CEO of EEP’s Generation Business, acknowledged ESL’s substantial contribution to the ongoing construction phase of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) project.
He emphasized the need for continued support to ensure the timely completion of mega power development projects.
Ato Demere Assefa, Deputy CEO of EEP’s Corporate Finance and Asset Management Division, emphasized the need to enhance the operational efficiency of financial information exchange systems.
Captain Wondwosen Kassahun, Deputy CEO of ESL’s Shipping Division, provided an overview of the organization’s current status. He expressed pride in its growing role in national power infrastructure development projects.
Captain Kassahun urged both organizations to intensify efforts to address challenges related to container leasing, dry port utilization, and service quality.
Ato Sharew Kebede, Deputy CEO of ESL’s Cargo and Freight Forwarding Division, assured that the organization is fully prepared to expedite the transportation of construction materials for power infrastructure projects entering the country.
