Ethiopia, in the last decade, was implementing an extensive economic recovery program with the objective of raising the national living standard. One such endeavor is the establishment of industrial parks.

The power demand for industrial parks where the project is located for Bole Lemi and Kilinto alone is about 180 MW and 348 MW respectively in the future, which are able to provide reliable access points and power support for new industrial parks and the southern parts of the capital, Addis Ababa.

The project will help sustainability the export sector in a way that contributes to the domestic economy, will drive local economic development and improve living standards of local residents, and increase their income.
