Akaki-Ii-Debreziet-III-Dukem-II-Mojo-II and Ginichi II Substation and Transmission Line

Project Outcome

The prime purpose of this project is to supply power to the new industries. Currently there is a power request of more than 600MW. It is expected that in the near future the demand will grow sharply since Debrezeit and nearby towns are the country’s main industrial areas. It is not possible to supply and satisfy this demand with only the existing 45kV, 66kV and 132kV  transmission lines in this area due to their aging and limited capacity.

This project is also supports the existing substations by supplementing power to the growing demand of existing customers in Debrezeit town and its surrounding. Furthermore, it serves as a connection node for supplying eastern part of the country which currently supplied by 230kV and 132kV from Melka Wakena and Koka substation respectively.
