A high-level delegation of senior executives from Ethiopian Investment Holdings and Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) has visited the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

The delegation was led by Dr. Brook Taye, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Investment Holdings, and Engineer Ashebir Balcha, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Electric Power.

During the visit, the leadership team toured the 5.2-kilometer-long saddle dam as well as the 1.8-kilometer-long main dam structure.

The Project Manager of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, Engineer Kifle Horo, along with other project and operations officials, provided the visitors with detailed briefings on the dam’s construction progress and ongoing power generation activities.

This marks the first official working visit by Ethiopian Investment Holdings’ leadership since the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam was formally inaugurated and began operations.

The visit also comes ahead of a scheduled review meeting, where Ethiopian Investment Holdings will evaluate Ethiopian Electric Power’s performance for the first half of the 2018 Ethiopian fiscal year.
