Ethiopian Electric Power is scheduled to complete five projects, including transmission lines and substations, in the 2017 fiscal year.
Eng. Ashebir Balcha, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Electric Power, announced that the projects include the Alamata-Kombolcha-Legetafo 230 kV second circuit, Bekoji-Debretabor, and the Kotebe headquarters renovation, all of which are expected to be completed this fiscal year.
He also mentioned that efforts will continue to achieve 75 percent completion of the Southern Grid Expansion and the 230 kV substation projects designated for the Geda Special Economic Zone.
He added that it is planned to achieve 99.4 percent completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, 73.96 percent of the Koisha Power Plant Project, and 95.58 percent of the Aisha Wind Farm Project.
Upon completion, these projects will play a crucial role in reducing power outages and enhancing access to electricity.
