The region has launched SAP Plant Maintenance training to improve operational efficiency.

The Central III Region of Ethiopian Electric Power has initiated user training on the SAP Plant Maintenance module for maintenance and operations professionals working at its substations and transmission lines.

According to Mr. Welday G/Tinsae, a member of the SAP implementation committee and trainer, the training is designed to modernize operational systems, enhance asset management, reduce costs, and streamline workflows.

He highlighted that the module not only tracks the assets of transmission and distribution stations but also enables the scheduling of planned maintenance activities.

Mr. Welday emphasized that the implementation of the module will enhance decision-making and forecasting by collecting and analyzing maintenance data, while also playing a vital role in updating and optimizing maintenance processes.

The training will equip professionals with the skills to monitor and manage assets at substations and transmission lines, ensuring their reliability. It will also support the oversight of routine inspections and maintenance tasks, updating control systems, and minimizing power outages.

The training, which will cover maintenance procedures, spare parts supply, administration, and related topics, will be delivered in four rounds over the course of one month to maintenance and operations experts at 20 substations managed by the region.

This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to improving operational efficiency and reliability across its network.
