The provision of reliable electricity has received attention.

According to the transmission and substations operation work unit, in order to ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply, they have been inspecting and maintaining transmission lines and substations for the last nine months.
Tagel Degefa, the work unit’s manager of planning, monitoring, and analysis, said at the sector’s nine-month report appraisal that 23,710 Km of transmission lines were inspected from the planned 30,165 Km transmission line.
He stated in the report that 7,282 km of transmission lines out of 24,716 km of transmission lines scheduled for maintenance are currently being maintained.
According to the manager, inspection and preventative maintenance work has been carried out on substation bays, as well as transmission lines.
In the last nine months, he claimed, 8,147 bays were scheduled for inspection work, which was completed on 7,351 bays, and 8,761 bays were scheduled for preventative maintenance work, which was completed on 5,774 bays.
He pointed out that the performance has been slowed down due to security issues that have been observed in certain regions.
The capacity of overloaded substations is being rehabilitated, the electrical grid is being made more reliable, and breakers are being updated to deliver reliable power.
On the other hand, the lack of safety equipment at work, the failure to fully implement technology-supported procedures, and the failure to solve problems related to compensation in time are also mentioned as drawbacks in the report.
