Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) hosted an Iftar dinner at the Sky Light Hotel to honor the Ramadan fasting period for its staff, clients, and stakeholders who practice Islam.
Eng. Asheber Balcha, EEP’s CEO, highlighted during the Iftar event that Ramadan fasting symbolizes the Muslim community’s spiritual fortitude, as they prioritize spiritual growth over worldly desires and submit to Allah.
He expressed that the program aims to merge Ethiopian traditions and cultures, fostering discussions on our achievements, future goals, and challenges.
He further explained that fasting, one of the five pillars of the Islamic faith, requires significant effort to attain Allah’s compassion.
To fulfill the requirements of the public, customers, and the nation, EEP has devised plans and implemented numerous initiatives to fulfill its mission entrusted by the public and the government, he stated.
Consequently, he urged all employees of the organization to contribute to realizing the organization’s vision.
He also extended his heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community for the 1445th Eid al-Fitr.
The management and staff members who participated in the Iftar program expressed their satisfaction with the event, stating that it instilled a sense of belonging.
They conveyed their appreciation to both the organization and the CEO for organizing the unity dinner, highlighting the significance of continuing such programs in the future.
