EEP Childcare Center Earns “Model Center” Recognition

The childcare and daycare center established by Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) has been awarded “Model Center” status in recognition of its role in creating a supportive working environment for female employees, the institution’s Women and Social Affairs Directorate announced.

According to the Directorate’s Director, Ms. Lense Idaee, the facility is among seven childcare centers recognized by the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, ranking it among the leading model institutions in the sector.

She said the evaluation was conducted based on key criteria, including the center’s overall environment, the adequacy of feeding, sleeping, and play facilities, sanitation and hygiene standards, admission procedures, and the caregiver-to-child ratio.

Ms. Lense noted that the center met all required quality standards, demonstrated strong performance, and contributed to improving workplace conditions. In recognition of this achievement, the center received a certificate and in-kind support valued at 50,000 birr.

She added that the recognition is expected to serve as a catalyst for further improvements and extended appreciation to the institution’s leadership and stakeholders for their contributions to the achievement.

EEP was recognized alongside other institutions, including the Information Network Security Administration, the West Addis Ababa Taxpayers Branch Office, the Large Taxpayers Branch Office, and the Ministry of Revenues.
