ESHS Compliance Audit: Ethiopia-Djibouti Power Interconnection
Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) is hiring an independent consultant to conduct an Environmental, Social, Health, and Safety Compliance Audit (ESHS-CA) for the Second Ethiopia-Djibouti Power System Interconnection Project. Funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), this audit ensures the construction of high-voltage transmission lines and substations across the Amhara and Afar regions aligns with national laws and AfDB’s Integrated Safeguards System.
Key Audit Tasks
- Compliance Review: Evaluate project adherence to ESIA and RAP commitments.
- Risk Assessment: Identify unforeseen environmental impacts and safety hazards like chemical spills or fire risks.
- Social Impact: Audit the effectiveness of grievance mechanisms and protections for vulnerable groups.
- Deliverables: Produce an Inception Report and a Final Audit Report including a Corrective Action Plan.
