The World Bank will finance drilling and resource establishment at multiple locations in Ethiopia for de risking resource availability, under the framework of PRIME project. The areas selected for this purpose are: Alalobad in Tendaho, Bobessa and Other relocated promising site at Aluto.
The Alalobad geothermal site is located in Dubti Woreda, Afar Regional State in the northeastern part of Ethiopia, and is about 600 km from Addis Ababa. Both Bobessa and Other relocated promising site geothermal sites are located in Adami Tulu Jido Kombolcha Woreda, Oromia Regional state, about 180 km south-east of the Capital, Addis Ababa.
