The Project is aimed to supply power to the Awash-Woldia Railway line. It is planned to supply power to 8(Eight) traction station located along the line of the railway between Awash and Woldia.  To do this, the project scope consists of about 200 km of 132 and 230kV transmission lines and substation expansion works at Metehara, Debrebirehan and showarobit towns.
