The Project consists of constructing about 150 km of 230 kV transmission lines, three (3) new 230 kV substations, three (3) substation extensions and upgrading of three (3) existing substations. These facilities involve the following cities located in three areas of the country: Metu – Masha (Oromia – South western region), Fincha II – Shambu (Oromia), Azezo – Chilga (Ayikel) (Amhara).

The project comprises Lot I: Construction of three new 230kV substations (CHILGA, SHAMBU and MASHA and bay expansion work at AZEZO, FNCHA II and METU).  Lot II: Construction of three 230kV single transmission lines (Azezo-Chilga, 40.6km; Fincha II – Shambu 30.5km and Metu – Masha, 71km).
