Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) is undertaking initiatives to develop leadership capable of effectively guiding the institution’s ongoing transformation, according to Ms. Tenagne Mekonnen, Manager of Leadership Development at the Ethio Power Academy.
Ms. Tenagne stated that a series of structured training programs are being delivered to cultivate leaders who can clearly understand and manage institutional change. These trainings focus on the nature of transformation and related strategic and operational issues.
She also noted that similar training sessions have previously been conducted in 14 rounds on various topics. Building on this, a new capacity-building program has commenced and will run for five consecutive days starting today.
The training aims to enhance leaders’ understanding of institutional transformation and enable them to effectively discharge their responsibilities, thereby ensuring the success of the reform process.
On his part, Mr. Tewodros Fikre, Manager of the Institutional Transformation Management Office, emphasized that the training plays a significant role in shaping leaders with a unified perspective on change management processes.
The week-long program will also cover a range of key topics in addition to change management, including risk management, finance, employer-employee relations, performance evaluation and rewards, as well as ethics and anti-corruption.
