Among the rivers that Ethiopia has, it has used the Awash River properly. The Awash River has contributed greatly to irrigation, clean drinking water, power generation and tourism. Three of the major hydroelectric power stations are located on the Awash River. Khoka, Awash 2nd and 3rd hydropower plants are located on the river.
