The region has carried out preventive inspections and maintenance
Eastern Region of Ethiopian Electric Power transmission and substation operation and maintenance Bureau announced that it has carried out 102.38% preventive inspection and maintenance work in the past six months.
On the evaluation of the six-month performance of the bureau, held in Jijiga, bureau director Gashaw Andrias said during six months of the budget year clearing high-voltage transmission lines from trees, replacing broken insulators, laying cables and replacing broken cables have been carried out.
He said that the bureau is working to replace the porcine insulator with a plastic insulator.
This has increased the region’s performance to 102.38 percent.
He said appropriate support is being provided to the newly established Jijiga sub-region, which has been in place for three months.
According to the director, there are performance gaps related to the presentation of the report, non-auditing of daily log sheets and provision of training.
The newly established Jijiga sub-region is under the auspices of the Eastern Region Transmission and Submission Operations and Maintenance Bureau and covers more than 700 km from Harar to Gode-Ritu for maintenance and operation.
