The Institution signed MoU to prevent HIV and corona virus

Ethiopian Electric Power has signed MoU with DKT Ethiopia and the Federal HIV / AIDS Prevention and Control Office to protect Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project workers from HIV AIDA and Covid 19.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Atalay Abebe, HR Executive officer of EEP, Ms. Dagmawit Girmay, Deputy Director of DKT Ethiopia, and Dr. Tsigereda Kiflie, Director General of the Federal HIV / AIDS Prevention and Control Office.

At the signing ceremony, Atalay thanked the institutions for their support and called up on the institutions to continue their support until the project is completed.

Atalay also confirmed that the organization will work with partners to prevent the virus from spreading to the project workers.

Dr. Tsigereda Kifle, Director General of the Federal HIV / AIDS Prevention and Control Office, on her part said that the HIV / AIDS epidemic is currently spreading in the country. So that, She said efforts are being undertaken in areas vulnerable to the virus.

Dagmawit Girmay, Deputy Director of DKT Ethiopia in Ethiopia, said the organization will continue to strengthen its financial and other technical support to prevent the spread of the virus in the project workers since its inception of the project.

According to Mesfin Derso, HIV / AIDS prevention and control coordinator at EEP, the agreement is over 4.9 million birr and will stay this is reached for three years.

The agreement will provide financial support and to carry out other technical activities to the project workers and the local community to protect them from HIV / AIDS and corona.
