As part of that effort, EEP is now embarked on numerous expansion, extension, rehabilitation and transmission reinforcement projects, to meet the predefined strategic plan. Therefore, Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) currently proposed to construct substation and transmission line at Debre Tabor and Bokoji. In view of the above, one (1) Kilometer new 230kV transmission line at Debre Tabor will be constructed from the existing Bahir Dar-Alamata 230kV line project as line in and line out (LILO)” to the new Debre Tabor substation, and 230 kV transmission line that has a total length of 1.135 kilometer from existing Melka Wakena to Koka 230 kV line as LILO” to the new Bokoji substation will be constructed.

Following the feasibility studies for both Debre Tabor and Bokoji have been conducted 2017 G.C, an ESIA study has been undertaken in 2018 G.C and submitted to WB for review. Thus, as per the review feedback from the WB, EEP has reviewed and revised the ESIA report according to these re-assessment that has included the changes happened on the biophysical and socioeconomic environments of the study site i.e., on both lot 1 and 2 sites since 2018
