The testing and commissioning of the Debre Tabor Power Substation have been successfully completed.

The testing and commissioning of the Debre Tabor 230 KV substation and transmission line project have been successfully completed, according to the project manager.
Project Manager Mr. Tewodros Kefelegn explained that the construction of the substation began in June 2015 (EC) with the goal of providing reliable power to Debre Tabor and its surrounding areas.
He noted that the testing and commissioning of the substation were successfully carried out yesterday, and today, the transformer will be energized.
Mr. Tewodros explained that the substation is equipped with two 63 MVA transformers, providing a total capacity of 100.8 MW, along with ten 15-kilovolt and ten 33-kilovolt outgoing distribution lines.
Despite challenges such as security risks and supply chain issues during the construction phase, completing the project on schedule is considered a significant achievement.
The energization of the Debre Tabor substation will ensure that Debre Tabor city and its surrounding areas receive reliable electricity, which will help stimulate economic activities in the region.
